Street Art

This semester Art 101 is my favorite class. Shocker I know, if you would have told me that at the beginning of the semester I wouldn’t have believed you. However, this class is just so interesting, especially now as we move towards more modern forms of art. This class has opened up my mind to art, I even visited an art museum!

Adding to the “coolness” of my art class is a video we watched: Exit through the gift shop a few weeks back. It featured street art and I really developed a respect towards the craft, even if most think it is vandalism.

***I have been getting some nasty comments and emails about this post, saying that this is so-and-s0, no this blah-blah. Or ‘Your an idiot this isn’t space invader’ Anyways. Since every email says that this is a different person( 8-bit, mario, j-boy). Who ever it is, the point is that street art is everywhere once you are aware of it***

I found street art in La Jolla 🙂

Ok that was my little tangent, have a nice night. Take an art 101 class 🙂

Max the Kitty

A few days ago I introduced you to this cute little kitty. He was a stray and super friendly.

Here he is again :

Peeking over the wall, he was afraid of Ty. Little did he know Ty was afraid of him too! lol

Sorry For the poor image quality, these are unedited.

Friday I even found a name for him:Max. It just seemed like a good name. He was a smart kitty too, he was already responding to his name after only one day!

Everyday around 5pm Max comes into our backyard and I feed him, but he doesn’t eat and run he stays and watches us. Today(speaking as if it were still sunday) Max even played with me. It was a lot of fun and the whole time he was purring. I pretty much fell in love with him over this past week.

He loved being pet behind the ears! Just so you know I would never consider myself a cat person, but he made me fall for him. He really is the charmer!

Isn’t he adorable?

Well today I had to leave Max and go to work, he even meowed a little. I promised him I would be back and then when I went inside he hopped over the fence. Little did I know that was the last time I would see him. Because when I came home from work at 4:30am I saw something in the road outside my neighbors house. I wont go into details but Max is gone and it breaks my heart. I’m so upset over it, my kitty was taken away from me so soon.I know I only had him for a little over a week and that he wasn’t even mine technically, but I really, really fell in love with him. I am so upset with what happened and it’s just one more thing on top of everything else that has been going wrong lately. I hope things start looking up.

Max, I will miss you and I love you. I’m sorry for what happened and I wish the person who did it would have been paying more attention. You will be missed so much.

101 in 1001: Hike in Big Bear

For quite some time Greg and I have been talking about going up to big bear during the spring, because it is supposed to be beautiful. Well 4 and a half years later we decided to go haha 🙂

It was a really fun day trip–yes day trip–one of the amazing benefits of living in Southern California is the closeness of what ever location you like… From beaches, to deserts, and mountains, its pretty amazing! It was also a relatively cheap trip, pretty much the only thing that cost us was gas, since they have a few free hiking trails.

The ride up to big bear wasn’t too bad, I get very antsy driving up the mountain though so we had to stop quite a few times; however, that lead to capturing some pretty pictures on the way up the mountain, so it was a win, win.

Theses were taken on the way up the mountain, I have about 50 more, since we stopped at least 10 times, but these were some of my favorites.

We also spent some time at big bear lake, which is super pretty.

When we go back next spring we are going to actually kyack 🙂

Here we are during one of our hikes 🙂

This is the climb up, it was only about a mile hike and this was the steepest part:
Dreaming

I actually got a huge bruise during this hike. When we were walking up the mountain there was this log that Greg climbed over, so in turn I had to climb over; however, when I stepped the ground wasn’t compacted and my leg wedged between the log and snow, the whole was about 2 feet deep, and I freaked out. It was really funny afterward through.

Here we are again after finishing a small walk around the town

Follow the Streem

As the day was winding down we went to watch sunset from the opposite side of the lake, and while we were waiting Greg decided to skip stones, and I was able to capture the awesome splash!
It was so much fun, and now I am kind of addicted to shooting water!

The lighting was absolutely amazing as the sun was setting!

But no where near as amazing as the sun set itself!
End Day
Gone

The whole day was spent walking around talking and taking pictures. It was great to get away from everything and spend some quality time together. It is something we are trying to do more often, even though we have been together so long we don’t want that spark to leave. I can not wait to go back this summer we are going to do the holcomb trail too, which should be fun!

101 in 1001: Santa Monica Pier

So I know this post should be a long time coming, but Greg and I visited the Santa Monica pier quite some time ago. I almost was just going to forget it and not blog about it until I realized I had it on my 101 list.

The Santa Monica pier was not everything I was expecting, but that was mostly because I didn’t feel like spending $10 to ride a ferris wheel.  It was a fun day with Greg.

Palos Verdes

The day ended with watching sunset at a popular bluff in Palos Verdes. It was a fun trip home we took PCH all the way home and the scenic route was so pretty!!!

This year Greg and I have promised each other that we would spend more time with each other, and I couldn’t be happier because our relationship has never been better. So far we have visited: The Santa Monica Pier, Sea World, The Getty, Disneyland, Mini golfing, and every friday night we hang out with these amazing people :). It really has been an amazing year for our relationship. Which is comforting since almost every thing has been going wrong lately, but that’s another post…

So do you have any ideas for future dates, I would love to hear them?

Random Day

As I write this I am hopped up on some pain meds, no not because I am a druggie, rather because I had a dentist ravage my mouth for 2.5 hours today. When I am stressed out I grind my teeth and I have been stressed out, thus grinding my teeth, thus causing them to get mad and jump out of my mouth. I am trying to distract myself from the pain by editing photos, and I came across this batch that I though I should share.

This is a kitty that keeps coming into my backyard, cutie!

my mommy likes cats, she is a cat person… Until she met Ty

This kitty was pulling at my daddys heart strings

My lovely parents. They are amazing and they mean the world to me. ❤
